Dude, I'm all for helping you build this thing right, but you've got to WANT to build it right. What you're starting with looks pretty nice. What you're aspiring to end up with will not be so nice.
I predict it ends up here. http://scarysteering.com/

Guy posts on Jeep related forum in search for help with a desired build.
Guy claims he's learning and looking for advice.
Guy states his plans.
Another user suggests other plans and shoots down old plans.
Guy posts images of "Where he's done it before and it worked great!"
Guy builds Janky plans anyhow.
Why do you ask if you know what you're going to do anyways?
Stock bracketry, stock gears, stock joints, stock everything on 38.5s is just not a good idea. No matter if "It worked before."

What's wrong with a 3 link?
You seem to have the same mentality as most Floridians. "Mud trucks should be built with less quality than any other truck"... "Because it's just a mud truck"
Why the hell would he run leaf springs in the front of Cherokee that already has coil springs? I know people have done it, many times, but WHY?
OP, make up your mind already! You are confusing the crap out of me. One second I think you're going to do it right then the next you're talking about mounting the axle with tooth picks.
You plan to build an entire suspension in one night? I'm certainly interested in the pictures.
Please take pride in your work and do it correctly.
I may not like you but I don't want you to die.

a WELL BUILT 3 link is plenty strong for any axle, but a 3 link you put together in 1 night... LMAO
All joking aside. Don't go home & build it quick, go home & reinforce the frame from the cross member to the steering box. Then make a Craigslist list add selling the D44 or order up some 4130 shafts! not being a *****, just trying to help you in the long run. Build this right the first time man
