Default brown dogs motormounts

the worst way of spending $75 is buying browndogs motormounts classic polyurethane these things really sucks.

they are very cool, they made my truck a 2tons *****.
every single vibration from the engine run across the unibody and finally my ***, it sucks.
maybe the soft polyurethane are not that vibrating but i have read a lot about motormounts and they say that are too soft . well idont know i just hate those fkers.

here they are

look close to the polyurethane in this last picture, this mount is smaller than the other one and is geting out WTF!! something is wrong with this guys (thought they were thw best)

go with oem motor mounts, they were in there for a reason. haha

also...the weight reduction sounds awesome. the weight of all that crap is pretty insane. cant wait to see what the new bumper looks like!

(still a work in progress)... today i just spent 3 hours taking out the front bumper and 5 hours grinnding and cutting them. no more pics till i finish

rear bumper 80lbs + 70lbs 33" tire + 35lbs tire carrier =205
front bumper 160lbs (more than me) +80lbs winch.....=240
that's absurd...
Whaaattt...My bumper has a billion gussets and a whole bunch of chit on the inside of it and it probably just touches 80 maybe 90 lb.

It's because their polyurethane. A rubber motor mount carries a lot less vibration, if any at all, to the rest of the body.

wow it looks like you have a long piece of at least 6 in channel under there, thats probably why your bumper weighs so much.

and continue cutting and grinding.
i want so much a welder machine so i can build a super high clearance bumper with a 9.0 rock crawler warn winch under the radiator. its a lot of space under there. but thats will be some day.

lets continue...

me and a friend spent hours taking the front bumper out.

i stoped cuttig because my mom is sick and the grinder makes so much noise for her, but i start masking the bumper for future cuts, i think i have to much for cutting. and at least i´ll take 6 stainless steel discs.

what do you think???

i´m afraid about cutting the 1/2 plate i think it will be double hard haha

Wait, Why are you cutting the mounting plates down? I would keep them the size they are for extra mounting strength. Cutting 1/2" plate with a grinder is gonna be a pain in the *****, it will take a long time. I cut my 1/2" and even 3/8" plate with an oxyacetylene torch.

i´ll just cut one side because i want to run again a swaybar, and that last bolt hits the mount when flexing a bit so i´ll shave it abit haha.
a friend of mine has a stainlessteel shop and he offers me tu but my bumper with the torch as you say, and i´m really considering because its gonna be hard to cut that *****.
