That day from the picture, I trailered it. Good thing, because the guy I was with ripped his Steering off and we had to trailer his. He followed me home in mine.
I drive it all over the place though. It drives straight and true. I can hammer down the interstate at 75 with cruise and A/C
As you can see, I am horrible with updates and taking pictures while I am doing something. I don't think I'll get any better either. One track mind. LOL

Just stopping in to say hey.
XJ is still running strong. I haven't done anything to it. Wheeled it a few times and put gas in it.
I do have rear calipers with parking brake on them to install as well as a parking brake kit. I've had them for a few months with no drive to install. LOL
HARD PARKED for a picture a couple weeks ago.

Obey signs.

Day of Exploring.

So yeah... No real updates, because I've not had to do anything to it, but enjoy.

Long time no posts...
Anyway, I FINALLY got a day to do one much needed mod to the jeep.
Rear seat headrests!!!
About 6 or 8 months ago, I went to the local LKQ and took my time looking for some headrests that would work and look good with the seat.
Found some out of an Explorer if I remember correctly. I purchased the whole seat and dismantled it, then cut out the headrest mounts.
They've been sitting on my bench ever since waiting for the right day. Well, Friday was the day.
I centered everything and drilled some holes to hold them in place.

Called a buddy to use his welder since I still haven't purchased one. I've not welded in quite some time, so be easy on me. HAHA

Had to mark and cut the foam out of the seat to fit around the mounts, then cut the seat cover to go around the mount holes.
I'm very happy how they turned out.

In no certain order.
I need a transfer case skid. Sometimes climbing, it drags. I need to lay it out and draw it up then build it.
Need to finally install the rear calipers that have parking brake levers and fit all that, so the parking brake will function.
Plans for a rear bumper with tire carrier are in the works.
I have parts for a traction bar. The rear gets to hopping when i'm climbing steep obstacles.
Need to install my ditch lights, so I can see wide.
Just random stuff here and there.
Kids take up a lot of time.

Thanks for coming by!

So, yeah. I haven't been here in a long time. Oops.
Only thing I've done from the above list is the ditch lights.
I have done some different headlights, a different fairlead, new winch line and BFG tires.
Oh and the headlight surround is a cheap Ebay piece, because I pulled down into a mud hole at a weird angle a couple years ago and it ruined the OEM one.
I still get out in the woods, but not as much as I used to.
Still plan on a rear bumper.
Below are random pics from this and last year.

This is from when I installed the new tires.

Difference in the pitt bulls to the BFGs. Same marked size too.

Ditch lights.
DRL

On

Added the Yankem groove fairlead.

I'll try to be more active, but the jeep is doing great and funds haven't been as plentiful since everything costs so much now.

I decided to sell the BFGs that were on the Jeep and go with something different.
The 37" BFGs didn't actually measure 37". They were a bit smaller and they didn't drive that awesome on the road.
Sold them and got with my tire hookup about some Nitto Trail Grappler 38x13.50. They came in Friday, so I went and picked them up and started the process of putting them on the beadlocks.

They went on pretty well, Just time consuming.

Balanced out really well considering.

I drove down the road with them. They feel so much better than the BFGs. Smoother actually.
Now to see how they do in the woods.

Not a lot of updates. I broke a stub shaft climbing a waterfall when my front unloaded and caught traction.

Was supposed to be a Nitro shaft, but it didn't look the same as the other side, so maybe it wasn't? Also, Nitro is shut down. No answer on the phones and their website is offline. Guess those lifetime warranties aren't any good anymore.

Summit got me going again with a Spicer unit. I tried a Yukon unit, but the quality was garbage.

Some guys from Illinois came down to do some 4wheeling at Adventure offroad park and asked if someone would show them around. I had been itching to get in the woods.
Was a good day of wheeling. An overhanging rock got my rear quarter and hatch, but not the glass!! WOOT!

Took the Jeep down the mountain for some food and noticed a vibration.
After the beating I gave it the previous weekend, I figured it took a toll on the rear U-joint.
I was correct.

Always keep a spare!

Ever since I had to put that ugly Ebay plastic header panel on, I've been looking for another one to replace.
Finally found one and met the guy Saturday to pick it up. Immediately replaced it when I got home.

Out with the old

In with the new.

I even touched up some of the spots where the paint was missing. It's a good 10 footer now.
