Stay to the right (cross over the little bridge) to stay on Perkins Mill. Perkins Mill will dump you right onto the trail. 3 creek crossings and you'll be at a great spot to camp if you plan on staying the night. Take the trail tot eh right to go up to Crabtree Falls. The left trail will take you to Slick Rock.

Yeah, it's a BP. Just take that (151 north) all the way to Crabtree Falls Hwy and turn left. Left on route 666 (Dickies Rd);take a left to stay on 666; right on Perkins Mill;take a right to stay on Perkins Mill (going straight will put you on Alhambra Rd) and then you'll be at the trail head. Real easy.

According to the 2010 Delorme I have there are a couple of small trails just off 56 south of Lovingston. I've heard there's also a few up near Harrisonburg too, but I haven't checked any of these out.

I'm gonna have to post up some pics from Crozet PLENTY of rocks and we setup trail rides there from the Richmond Jeepers crowd often...not as often as we would like but at least we get some wheeling time in.

I also live some land and have a few trails behind the house we like to hit up...I hate mud but there is a mudhole I have a standing bet on to get thru of $50 if you want to try it sometime

Rules:
No larger than 37" tires
Under your OWN power no winching
Only one direction through it

You make you get $50 in your pocket the hole is basically that...a HOLE with MUD lol

found shoe creek. well, kinda. i actually don't know what part is called shoe creek. there was a long trail. this is funny, my GPS showed white the entire time, no roads, no signs.
but that road is called dickies, not dickens. and y'all forgot to mention that it becomes a gravel road all the way down to perkins mill.

Sorry about not mentioning the gravel road. Also, where'd you get Dickens from?
Anyway, did you have a couple of fluff ball dogs chase after you when you got to the trail head? They come after me every time. That's the very start of Shoe Creek trail. Shoe Creek is the trail goes all the way to Meadow Lane (Upper parking lot for Crabtree Falls). Any pics from the trip?

I just went to the Super lift ride there. Cove campground is just bada$$ but is only ope to jeeps certain times of the yr which sucks. I will be at the Main Jambo, but more then likely I will be a passeger, as my stuff will not be done in time.
