1) I see. Might have to bite the bullet and get a replacement soft line. The Dodge Dakota rear line is 6" longer and costs $20.
Jeep YJ = 3" longer, $30
2) Steel lines, consider painting or undercoating them when finished.
3) Seriously consider replacing the soft lines to caliper if not already done with the ZJ swap. They are a known weak point. Replacement with stock is fine.

I'll paint the steel lines. Is the green coating crap *****?
I was unaware that the zj lines were a weak point. The ones in my kit looked ok, but I dont know if they're replacements or somehow stock 1997 lines.

Can`t you install the longer one now? Shouldn`t get in the way.
The coating is to keep it from forming surface rust while on the shelf.
Likely 1997 lines. When I have read about brakeline failures, it is either a rusted line or the rear soft lines to calipers.
As a side note; For my vehicles, even though I live in a flat area, I always keep an operating emergency brake. I have had brakes fail before in a van, and I was lucky to have been in a parking lot where I could rub against a curb to stop.
The battery tipped over when turning into lot, positive terminal contacted a grounded brake line and melted it. Lucky there was no fire.
Plus e-brakes turns are fun!

I'm installing a 2" lift so will most likely be using a three inch longer line. Wouldn't doing that now let it dangle too much?

Rear soft line from chassis to axle? Should not dangle due to the slight `S`in the line. As long as it is not rubbing on something.

Instead of putting longer E-break lines in the rear of my Cherokee I remounted the splitter farther back, worked great. I have a 5.5 inch lift.

What would you want for it? After I go home from work I'm pulling mine again to make sure it's the carrier. I blew some spiders last week, put in new spiders then blew my cross shaft so I believe my carrier is the cause now..
