It's a good day job to do, easy enough. Did mine in the gravel, just a pain. Buy two rear main seals. When putting in and sliding the first one around, you'll see how you supposed to do it when you rip/tear the rubber on the seal. Then throw that one away and slide the second one around correctly.Originally Posted by 1991Jeep_Man
Anyone know about what the going rate is for a Rear Main Seal replacement around Warrenton? Mine has been at it for a while now, and I have replaced valve cover, front main, and OFA seals as well as the Oil pressure sending unit. I've read every article and watched every video about the job, and I believe I could do it, but I simply lack the local. I've got gravel/grass. I can't wait until I have my own house/garage. Very hopeful that will happen end of this year.

I know how you feel with the Jeep being ready. I have mine on stands now installing a Lokka locker, chromos and axle tube seals in the 30. I try and donate about 2 hours every evening to the XJ to get it done. But, it can be hard to pull off when the 12 hour work day is over!Originally Posted by 94cherokeeman

Keep us posted on the meet and I will do my best to make it for a good cause..

I'm down for a meet & greet Travis. Just let me know when and where. Let me know if you need help with the motor install. I'll see if I can get away from the house and come on out one day or two to help.

I here ya. This will be my sixth or seventh time up there and I still get stoked. The Cove is a great place to off-road. I was up there this Fri - Sunday at a club event, we ran some trails that I had not been on before. Always a good time.Originally Posted by PUNISHER

Very cool! John Hunt (owner) is a super nice guy. I have emailed him a bunch of times asking him questions and he has always answered them and has been real nice about it. I am registered and need to call and get the camping part taken care of.Originally Posted by Rockhead

I had a guy from Orange buy my wheels and tires off my Bronco. He asked about my cherokee and told me that he had more dents in one quarter panel on his 4-Runner than I had in all the vehicles in my driveway. I told him I wanted to go to Big Dogs and he pulled out his phone and showed me pictures of his Runner. He wasn't lying, there wasn't a straight panel on it and he had a picture of it upside down on the rocks at Big Dogs. He told me that some of those trails are pretty wicked! Of course I am not set-up to run the extreme stuff..
