So I was driving home today going about 70 and my oil pressure dropped from 40 to 10 for a few seconds...what would make it do that? It climbed right back up so I'm stumped...
Some good info here..

My '98 drops to 10 at idle after reaching operating temps and goes up to 40ish at highway speed. I'm going to try cleaning the sending unit port first.

Our Cherokees sending unit is notoriously wrong, most that I have tested are way off by a few pounds at idle to 10 lbs running down the road. I always suggest usin a mechanical gauge to test all pressures, cold idle hot idle and running down the road. If your reading seem normal than u can try to replace the sending unit or just understand it is off. I hope this helps.
As far as low pressure check and make sure it is full.
