I love the 15x10 look though. They have a 4" backspace. And stick out just right.

Hey man. My buddy has a Porche GT3. He just did his OEM wheels and I was not of the opinion after talking to him that the Plasti-Dip was terribly durable. He is meticulous in his prep and execution, and the look was great, but he said he got the impression it could peel off easily. Didn't seem like it would be rock or off-road friendly. He said he'll never use it again as it is designed to last up to 3 years. Paint or powdercoating is far more durable.

FYI.....

I've used it before. As long as its prepped right. It won't come off unless you purposely try to peel it off. You can even use a pressure washer on it and that won't peel it off. You have to prep it a certain way for it to adhere right. If done correctly it will last for a few years. Its durable. And will last if done right. And its cheap. So if you do mess up just peel it off and apply it again. Im not worried one bit. I know it will work for what I intend it to do. Thanks for your concern though. Good looking out.

Given your experience, do you think it would work for motorcycle rims with clip-on or stick on wheel weights???? I was eyeing it hard for that.

Ya it would work fine. I would have the rim balanced first then clean the rim really good, then with alcohol or mineral spirits. Make sure its completely dry, then plasti dip the rim. You could either paint the wheel weight too or tape it off so no plasti dip gets on the weight. You shouldn't have a problem though. Look up plasti dip on you tube. They are doing whole cars in plasti dip, rims, emblems you name it its been done. They even give you some pointers on how to apply it.

Well, my intent would be to remove all weights, plastidip, then balance after I sprayed the rim. My fear was the wheel weights would remove the plastidip when they needed to be removed. Maybe not the stick-on kind so much.

I may give it a shot. Course rattle canning them is also cheap and easy, and looks fine.
