Yeah, I'm not sure why they posted that because I was on their site earlier that day looking at their kits.

I do like the SeriousOffroad packages also.

I really like the RK kit (obviously) and is great if you plan to use the factory cross member or do a belly skid. If you're looking at just a simple upgraded cross member the Serious kit is really nice.

These are good things to know because I have no idea at this point.

I need to go back and re-read your build thread. I think I remember you upgrading your steering. I was looking at the 1 TON Steering Upgrades on SeriousOffroad's website just now.

I did JCR's set up and Serious make s a good kit as well. Frank is real easy to work with and he's a real Keep guy himself so he totally gets what it's like to build a Jeep up while on a budget.

Nothing local unless you know someone with land. Starr motors in Suffolk does events at their place throughout the year. Otherwise you're driving to northern OBX, GWNF, Crozet (the new one), Rausch, or URE.

No rdplz, I've been making my way through your build thread. Very cool build! Extremely well thought out and super functional. I hope to see your XJ around VB.

MolonLabe if your looking for local trails check out www.Where2Wheel.com

A lot of the local stuff falls into a gray area where the landowners allow wheelin so long as the land is respected. Just read up on and understand where you are going first and you will stay out of trouble.

Thanks for the compliment! Gray areas can cause lots of public damage to our hobby. Always a good idea to have written permission from the land owner when wheeling on private property if the owner is not present with you.

Carolina
Another option is to go 2.5 hours South to North Carolinas beaches, trails, primitive roads and maritime forests. Super fun and beautiful, only a few people on the beach in the summer.

Maybe decide on the type of suspension first, SeriousOffroad is 'radius arm'.
RockKrawler is '3-link' or '4-link' (preferable).

This is very true. Of the radius arm set ups out there, Serious' is the only one I'd do. I've seen IRO's in action and honestly, I didn't like it. It accomplished the end goal, but there just seemed to be a lot of strain and binding. That's why I went with the 3-link from RK.

The more I look into it the more I want to do a 3 link or 4 link. It looks like there are still some other things I'll have to order if I get the RK 4.5 X Factor Plus Long Arm System but that's to be expected.

I'll just adjust my list accordingly.
