Hatteras Island.
There is another driving beach at the Northern end of NC, it's flat and hard packed with terrain behind the dune lines on access roads and ATV trails. And very crowded in summer.
On Hatteras there are jumps, ledges, and many camel-humps (like whoops but with a longer frequency). And often no one around. Driving permit is $120 per year. Worth every penny.
It's fishing season now. Pulling in 40lb red drum off the beach.

Where are you?! You coming out here? Let's ride!
It takes some local knowledge to find the good stuff, especially the Northern trails behind the Currituck beaches of Carova and Swan Beach.

Ha ha yeah. Looks like I'll have good timing all around 😉 I was lucky enough to be home in Iowa during all that snow last year (we may have had two feet but we have plows so the town doesn't shut down lol) this year since I'll finally have a jeep I'll be prepared if VA has another :-)

I am around during the week, hanging out with my 4.5 year old while the wife works. He likes to go Jeeping too! Sunday + Monday are my days 'off'. Tuesday + Wed I take him to school and have 3 hours to go to nearby beach or woods.

Hey all, Just wanted to introduce myself. Im called "Doc" or "K" by most everyone I know.
They call me that cause of my medical training and that i have a pretty good knowledge base when it comes to XJs.
I used to live in the Hampton area and moved to Maryland a few years ago. Im pretty active with a couple Jeep groups around here.
Anyways I just bought a house with a Garage
in Hampton. Moving back in a few weeks once the job thing gets situated.
Looking to meet up with other Jeep groups and become active in the area.
So.. What Jeep groups are in the area (XJ friendly) and any places to go play thats Legal?
