SW VA XJ's/MJ's, Roanoke/NRV to Bristol, post up!
I like the 29 spline 8.25 slightly better than the 8.8.
The 8.8 WILL spin the tubes on you if you don't weld them and they are still a C clip axle so no real advantage there. Add a set of ZJ discs and you have a cheap and strong axle. I'm running 29 spline 8.25's on all 6 of our XJ/MJ's
Both axles have plenty of aftermarket support and are easy to install gears in if you know what you are doing.

and 31 spline shafts but I must agree my 8.25 has never given me a single ounce of trouble!
if I get time today I'll clean up the 8.8 get ready for the truss and brackets, then I'm going to take it to Christiansburg have the gears done by a guy out there for cheep and hopefully I'll be installing the axle there, and when I get home 825 is all yours for slightly more than scrap, let's say $25? my only condition is it you come pick it up
Should've figured that. I know you're dying to get your new axle under the heep. I'll get a notification on my phone when it happens. Haha. I'm just excited to get an axle to tear apart and rebuild.
Its been in the Jeep for 3 years
