Default My road trip to GA

Well on SUnday I left for the great state of GA. my trip was 636 miles each way. LOng story short my 3/4 ton chevy averaged 13.5 down at 75+ and on the way back I averaged 7.5mpg. Mind you my truck is the 6.0 gas motor with 4.10's.

specs are
24' Vnose
84" tall door
96" wide door 84" between fenders
10400 rating with brakes on both axles
Bully dog Hitch
13.5 BTU heat/AC unti
Eletrical package (60 amp breaker with RV hook up, 24' lights, and 2 110 outlets)
36" RV style door
SPare tire

LOve the fact that it has key lock and will lock from the inside as well

the all important heat and Ac unit

NO height issues here (xj masure 74" to the top)

First trailer mod waiting to be done... EPOXY floor paint.

Why did you come down here? For the enclosed trailer?

Exactly..it was a lot less money to buy it down there. I didnt feel it was worth 1200 bucks to pay to have it shipped either. Time wise it might have been, but fuel and expense wise I came out ahead by almost 400.

Nice! I had debated getting an enclosed trailer to haul my Jeep in but have it so that I could camp in it while wheeling.

Make fold down sleeping platforms and tables. It'd be pretty nifty.

The only hold up is the fact that my truck isn't big enough to haul the enclosed trailer AND the Jeep. Any idea on the overall weight of the trailer and your Jeep together?

Trailer is 3700 empty... The turd weighs in at 4200 with tools and fuel, and me. SO roughly 8k.

PLans are to paint floor, put laminate up in the front were I will be sleeping. I also plan on a dorm style fridge, and microwave, a couple of power invertors. There will be a small aircompressor, of course a small welder, and a roll around tool box, crash cart. another 5-700 lbs of gear. Might put a partial wall in it.. not sure yet. That is going to depend on how and where the rig fits inside.

The whole purpose of this was to make a toyhauler out of it. I wil keep it a few yrs and then sell it.. and buy one just a touch bigger, but a gooseneck. It just wasnt in the budget this yr to get it the way I wanted it. SO i got close.
