I am glad that y’all made it through okay. Do you know of a disabled person, single mother, widow or family who simply didn’t need another bad thing to happen; someone who needs some minor things done? Re-hang siding, cut up fallen trees, and prune broken limbs, general clean up--- etcetera? I didn’t have any plans for this coming holiday weekend so I am game for taking a road trip if it can brighten someone’s day. Sometimes it is something as little as this that can help someone to hold on when they are on the path to letting go!

It looks like it will be awhile before anyone can get into OBX.

Irene passed 84 miles to the east of us. Some roofs blew off and some scattered structural damage but mostly trees/branches/leaves. Some minor flooding as well. The big issue down here was power outages. At one point on Saturday they said over 60,000 homes didn't have power. Mine was on and off all night Friday and into Saturday morning but it was never out for more than 10 minutes.

I fared pretty well. Here are pics of my damage:

I got belted with Rain up in the Adirondacks NY. went to go check on my dear old mom (yeah im a mommas boy, say sumthing!) tree came across her driveway and i used the jeep to pull it back out of the way. then sectioned it up with the chainsaw.

At least it was only rain and not snow. God i love me a good Nor'Easter.
