Default Freeman Park/Carolina Beach August 10th

A crowd of folks have organized a trip to Freeman Park to camp Aug 9-11th. I'll be there from noonish on Saturday until we leave. Idk when we'll leave. Depends on how the kids hold up in the heat.

If you don't have anything better to do come on out and drive on the beach.

I won't be there that night but the rest of the NAXJA folk will still be there. Just look for drunk people and XJs around a big fire.

Would love to meet up with everyone and meet some other XJ enthusiast... but don't see paying $20 to drive out on this crowded small section of sand. So hope all that go have a great time.

Nice to know. Sorry I don't believe in overpaying for something that used to be and should still be FREE to the people.

I agree. It should still be free but times change.

It's worth it to me to pay 20 bucks to spend the day with friends that I rarely get to see.

I understand not wanting to pay $20 to go meet some random strangers.

I'll wave when I ride through Southport on the way to load up on the ferry.

LOL... I'll wave back.....Be Safe. And I understand.

I lived there for many years and been driving out on the north end ever since I was about 18 and have seen it change tremendously. I just hate that the way the Town of CB has exploited this Private Property, that they lease from the Freeman family, to line their pockets. A 5 to 10 dollar charge would be acceptable and enough to cover trash pickup and porta potties. (SORRY to get off on that tangent...)

BUT it is one of the only places locally to wheel. Beside Fort Fisher State park.

Hope all have a good time. And you never know, I might get bored and show up... lol

I'm sure the Freeman's get a pretty penny for the lease.
