Old fart with a wrench
I grew up in RI but moved out in 1965. At the time, the New England Trail Rider's Association had marked trails and leased landowner's rights for motorcycles. I wasn't aware we HAD 4-wheelin' areas. Maybe we didn't. I know the Cape Cod lands were off limits but guys wheeled the dunes anyhow. What's going on now? I now live in Syracuse, NY and miss RI a lot. It might be worth a trip back to have some fun!

I was actually kinda hoping someone might know of a place! Im only 15, and moved here from CA three years ago. I only know of one little "Water Crossing" up in Exeter. You should definitely make a trip back! First stop, Iggys for Clam Cakes & Chowder!!!

I grew up on clam cakes! Gawd, how I miss them! Another thing I REALLY miss is sailing on 'Gansett Bay. People ask me how small RI is and I tell them it's smaller than the county I live in, and 1/2 of that is water!
Let me do some research and I'll try to make some contacts for you. PM me and we'll do some e-mail. I'm 67 but not dead yet!

Upstate NY has some beautiful trails in their state parks, but the only motorized vehicles allowed are snowmobiles! Not even dirtbikes! And I hate horses!

I've heard about Coventry, but you need a permit. Where you get it, IDK. You'd be better off hooking up with guys in eastern Conn.

TBH I have heard about it myself but thought it was a joke. I didn't know you needed a permit though...Maybe a permit for horses because they are animals, but for a truck? WTF...Makes no sense.
