So far, I think the problem has been fixed with the distributor I got from the 626 at the local junkyard. I'm going to install those parts I posted above in the other, keep it in my car along with tools in case it ever decides to leave me sit again.

Exactly...My car (1990 Mazda 626LX 2.2L) shares the same powertrain with 1989-1992 4cyl Ford Probes. Parts are interchangeable. I have yet to see a probe at any junkyards local to me, surprisingly. They are more common on the streets than the Mazda variety. So far, I think the problem has been fixed with the distributor I got from the 626 at the local junkyard. yup my '03 mazdaspeed protege has the same ford transmission as your 626 and the probes do, lots and lots of interchangeable parts, theres a J yard in honey brook that has 3-4 626's and some pre '96 cherokees, you could go grab some parts there for the jeep and mazda haha

Like I said before, I have the km2s on my tj with 15k or more miles on them and are still more than half tread. Majority of driving was on highway. The ones on my xj only have about 5k on them and barely can tell they are wearing.
