I don't know how it overheated in the first place though. Maybe its a bad thermo, or whatever. Shouldn't I at least replace it? I mean it's like 5 bucks or something

yeah do it becUse its 5 minutes, maybe a clog somewhere or bad water pump gasket or cracked rad.... Large list of diagnosing for over heating

Replace the tstat. Jeep head bolts are reusable once, as long as they pass a visual test (make sure they aren't necked). when the dealer reuses head bolts they mark the heads of the bolts with paint. I still recommend replacing them because you never know if someone didn't mark them, or Joe shmo before you did it.

I probably wouldn't use the valve stems though.
