Should I replace the thermostat and the head bolts when doing the gasket?

id atleast replace the head bolts never re-use head bolts because they stretch, thermostat takes 5 minutes any other time

I don't know how it overheated in the first place though. Maybe its a bad thermo, or whatever. Shouldn't I at least replace it? I mean it's like 5 bucks or something

Replace the tstat. Jeep head bolts are reusable once, as long as they pass a visual test (make sure they aren't necked). when the dealer reuses head bolts they mark the heads of the bolts with paint. I still recommend replacing them because you never know if someone didn't mark them, or Joe shmo before you did it.

There's a kit on eBay for 119 bucks. Three major gaskets (head, valve cover, exhaust/intake) and few smaller gaskets, (I would assume thermostat gasket but I don't know what else it's for), head bolts, and valve stems. Is it a good deal?

I probably wouldn't use the valve stems though.
