Cop- " Explain this nonsense to me with jeeps and having the doors off."
Me- " It's jeep thing"

We've been pulled over in our old CJ and more recently in our TJ. And when you say to the very nice PA Trooper, "they're designed to come off". He says in PA they're for Offroad use only. I guess it's like the windshield, just because it can, doesn't mean it should. But I've only had problems in PA. Never in WV or upstate NY.

Pa law technically states that the modification of any street driven automobile is against the law. I read that years ago in the '08 book I believe.

Just playing devils advocate but isn't every door made to be removed technically. I say that because what if your in an accident and the door gets damaged, you have to replace the door

It's just like the windshield, it's designed to fold forward. But is not legal on public access roads.

So if half doors are legal, would tube doors be legal? As we're coming into the summer months I'd like to start on a few cheapo mods for my jeep, and tube doors would be nice...
