Zrace, same here 2". I had the spacers and shackles laying around from the old xj I sold. I just bought ironman4x4fab shackle relocation brackets for a steal on eBay. And some JK Sahara shocks on Craigslist.

I'll keep that in mind if these ones don't work. From what I read the Jk ones are good for up to 3", so we shall see. Thanks though!

I disagree with that based on my experience. JK shocks were maxed out on my 3" XJ

I'm only going 2" and using bpe's, think that will work? When you say maxed out, are you talking when you flex? I think they are 23"ext 14" collapsed iirc the last I measured them.
I thought I read on my searches that xjwonders ran the Jk shocks also at one point before going higher?

I ran it on my 5 speed XJ on 2.5" lift in front and 2" in the rear. The shocks were too long in the rear but was perfect up front. Granted I didn't flex it but on the road it was perfect. I keep bottoming out in the rear when going over speed bumps or stuff like that if I go fast.

All,

I have a 96 Cherokee that I bought as a donor for the tires, lift, and bumper. The engine more than likely has a blown ring, but runs rough. NP242 xcase, has 120xxx miles on the whole jeep. I want to keep the front axel so we need to get creative on moving it. Chrysler 8.25 in rear. Interior is perfect....if you are into torn seats, stains, and smell of 20 year old grease and mud. The underside is SOLID and if it were a 99, I would have just transferred everything from our 99 to it. A flat bed will be needed, we just put the old suspension on enough to make this roll. Flat bed will definitely be needed.

I'll leave this here for a few days since everyone is pretty much local, then going to the general threads for 2 weeks, then the Jeep goes to the scrapper.

did you use bpe front and rear? I was wondering if I could skip the bpe in the rear and try to be at 2.5" and maybe not bottom out the shock?

Nice! I didn't realize you could use the JK shocks.

I'm going with Rancho shocks all around, OME 2" springs, UpCountry leafs, and RC shackles. I think I may need spacers in the front, but we will see how it sits once it's finished.

I had the Crown HD leaf packs (same as upcountry packs) with RC 2" shackles. I still netted 2" total of lift. Which was a disappointment.
