I think my ECM is bad or going bad and before I replace it I want to switch with another to confirm or not. One problem is that it's a 96 but the previous owner said it had a 99 engine in it so I'm not sure which ECM I would need. Anyone want to help out?

Why do you think it is the ecm? Do you have a check engine light?

No check engine light but at random times it blows the 30a fuel pump fuse. I've checked the wiring and tried to get it to die by moving around harnesses and nothing. No shorts that I can see, I just replaced the pump so that's not it. The only think left I can think of is the ECM

Joe? You were at the home depot meet right? I'm the kid that was there with the green xj without a front driveshaft.
Ya think you can help? I already tried swapping relays with the starter and it still dies whenever it wants to
