4WD Poker Run, Bath NY, Feb 19th
My club back country 4 wheelers, is putting on a 4wd poker run just outside of Bath ny, if anyone is interested. On Sunday feb 19th
for those that may not know in a poker run you basically get a map or directions, and you drive around stopping a check points to get your "card". at the end of the run the best poker hand wins. We have trophies and possably a small cash prize (depending on turnout).
Our run will be on public roads, we try real hard to stay off pavement but there is some. Most of the roads will be at least dirt with a pretty good amount of them being seasonal, we even have one road that is abandoned, but that one is optional.
The gates to our land will open at 9am we dont like to let anyone start the run much after noon because depending on the weather it could take several hours to complete the course, its it 10 bux for driver and vehicle, 5 bux for passangers. Our land will also be available to play on, we have a small trail area/obstacle course as well as rocks, tires, and a car to climb around on.
5459 county route 10, Bath, NY, 14810 is the address
we would love to have ya join us, some of our runs in the past have had over 100 rigs show up, ranging from built rock crawlers, to dually tow rigs, to subarus........
And FYI, there is a gass station/country store near the end of the route, they got drinks and some good grub......
ANY questions feel free to ask, thanx for looking
Jason

That sounds like a good time! I've started a small group near Buffalo and it'd be great to get out on another trail ride. Check us out at www.facebook.com/wny4x4club sometime. I'll try to get a few guys together for it!

it IS a good time, especially when the weather cooperates with us, which so far it hasnt, but there are a few chances of snow between now and the run, and we got our fingers crossed.......
Some of us are going up this weekend to run the proposed route and see if we need to make any changes, i will post up the conditions after the pre run......
thanx for showing some interest, we try to put these on because our club land has gotten away from what stockish rigs are capable of, and cause some of us prefer snow bashing to mud, LOL.......

well some of us ran the route yesterday to check it out, most of the roads were pretty passable with just some snow on em, but there was some ice under the snow that made some spots very interesting, i came back down one stretch every which way but the right way after i failed to clear the hill......
the route covered @ 45 milesand should only be getting "better" with the snow thats blowing through yesterday and today, with the chance for more this week
If any of you peeps are in the area you should check us out, its a good time for all........

thanx, glad you had some fun, but i will be the first to tell you that this one was very tame, the weather absolutely screwed us, LOL, usually there is quite a bit of snow on the seasonal roads, but oh well.
And the turnout was decent, i heard 52 trucks for the poker run and another 12 or so playing at the land, in the past we have had well over 100 trucks playing, not counting the spectators, but we are always pleased that people can come out and play with us.
thank you greatly for your support, we truely appreciate it these events allow us to pay our land taxes and pay for the event insurance, so again thanx for coming out!
