ive heard of the north port trails but thought they would be too tight for a jeep. how are the cops do they leave you alone?

Alot of the trails are very tight, but my XJ fit down most of them. Not without a little "pinstriping" but it fits. There's plenty of larger trails though, there's just so many of them I couldn't even say what might be out there. I've never heard of cops being an issue, they have certainly always left me alone. But I usually stay back in the bush as much as I can, that's where the fun is anyways! To be honest I haven't ever even seen a cop out there. On the weekends there's always a bunch of full-size rigs out there mudding in the deeper areas and plenty of ATVs riding too. I haven't really seen any other Jeeps picking their way around on the trails like me though...

doesnt the ocala jeep club do some off road events up there? we could tag along on one of them maybe.

ive mountian biked the croom trails and most of what i saw was very flat and open, i think ocala would have some elevation at least.

Yeah, i heard its 35 a day including camping. They apparnetly have truck only trails in the woods around the motocross track. I still need to fix my steering issue (axle u joints i think-or maybe ball joints....i dunno) and then I gotta check that place out!

yes, been up there a couple months ago with my sonoma. they have hndreds of acres, if not thousands, of trails, spent the whole day there. most of them are just flat dirt and sand, but there is alot of hills, mud, deep puddles, and soft sand. thats all i saw, could be more. alot of the trails are used by hunters. you can go anytime you want, there arent any gates to block the trails.

when i went i had a 2wd pickup and got stuck alot, but now i cant what to go back with my 4x4.

I can't make it up to Ocala this Sunday, but thanks for posting up the link to your club "Digdug". I had no idea there was a club like that in the TB area! I'm in Sarasota so I just registered for the site. As though I don't already spend enough time browsing Jeep forums, now I have a new one to explore! Thanks again.
