Yeah, I dont mind some water or mud but its not the main reason Im building my jeep. I think a vehicle as nice as a cherokee is overkill if your just going to go bury it in mud-no offence to mudders. I wish I still lived up north so I can see what my jeep can really do...

I'd love to hit some trails in my Jeep. Have to be pretty mild, though, since I'm only a 2wd and I don't want to push the 185k mile engine too hard.
One day I'll get a 4wd.

Not that I know of.
I know, I saw your post about it. Great work, gives me some hope. Maybe over the summer I'll either find a 4wd to start from, or convert my 2wd. Depends on if the engine holds out, I suppose (185k and running strong, so far).
Although, truthfully, I'm probably better off looking for a newer 4wd. This Jeep was supposed to just be a 6-month DD, run-to-Lowes, vehicle. But it's growing on me.

Keep it. Your jeep is in great condition from your pictures. I hated mine. I was going to sell it and then I started driving it and then joining this forum really made me diside to keep it. I love my XJ more than my Durango.

Actually, there may be some trails near me. I need to go check them out, but it looks like there are quite a few dirt roads and 2-tracks in Tiger Bay State Forest just to the west of Daytona, between 40 and 17/92.
Can't tell if they are worth checking out or not on Google Maps, but I may head over that way this weekend or next to take a look.

There's hardly anything down here in Sarasota to wheel on, but I make frequent trips to the undeveloped North Port area in the southern part of the county, damn near in Port Charlotte. There is some pretty cool wheelin to be done down there, east of the interstate near Kings Highway is literally criss-crossed with hundreds of ATV trails (My XJ fits down them just fine), alot of trails big enough for a full-size, and a good few typical Florida mud bogs too. My XJ is also a 2WD and I'm even on 235's and I manage to squeak by without getting stuck amazingly enough, I really can't belive some of the places I've been without getting stuck! If anyone is located down here on the lower suncoast/Sarasota/Port Charlotte area drop me a pm or something, I've been trying to find some fellow XJ owners to wheel with being pretty new to the sport.
P.S. I also intend on being 4WD. Someday...
