Good morning guys. How's everyone doing? Weathers great.
Well, I have to re-pull the engine and figure out what's with cyl 1. Not only am I getting blowby but its making a slight noise almost like piston slap. Good thing is it only takes about two hours to have that motor out. Only bad thing is having to buy another head gasket set.

ATTN: Does anyone here use TapaTalk? If so, I urge you to load the Forum Runner or IB Automotive Group apps instead. Both are free to load and use. There have been problems with TapaTalk that the owners are not pleased with and will be dropping its support.

That's does suck but what was the cause to the noise? Bad rings?

Number 1 cyl rings are acting like they're not seating properly (Omix-Ada set) and it kinda sounds like piston slap/walk (where the piston wobbles in its bore) probably due to the ring clearance. Only way to check is to remove head and piston, mic the bore and piston and replace rings if bore is not damaged. It happens. That's why there's always a break in period for any built motor, so you can find these things before going out joy riding around.

Should be able to use your crossmember. Just modify the bolt holes with a die grinder.

Good morning everyone.
Looks like some great weather today, so I'm gonna head down to Henry's Range in Homestead, and see if I can zero my new 30.06 and play with my other toys for a bit.
