Dave, Marc's refering to the cost-benefit of the TJ 44. For what you'll pay to buy one, you could have a much better axle built. Sure, it's a bolt-on deal, it has a locker, but it gives up an inch of ground clearance for those two things. It has 760X axle joints too, but you can swap your 297s for those today.
It's expensive, lower to the ground, and only the ring & pinion is any stronger. You could build a Waggy 44 for less. You could build a D30 for less. You could narrow a HP44 for about the same. You could narrow a HP60 for a little more. You could buy a Rock Jock 60 for more than your Jeep's worth...
Or you could go wheel you're Jeep, take it easy on it, and deal with what you need to later.

Makes sense. I don't think I'm gonna have any issue with 33s. Axle upgrades are down the line. May just end up trussing and adding gears and lockers

Doubt you'd have any issues with 35s with the 30/8.25 combo especially if you truss it. Brian hit on what I was talking about. Those axles go for 1200 bucks and it's not really any stronger than a HPD30 which goes for 150. Gear and lock what you got, truss it and then beat on it. Guessing if you plan on a paint job you don't plan to wheel it to hard so you'll be fine. My front as well as all the Cleveland guys held up and theirs are still holding up to 35s in stock form. Don't know if you've seen me or Justin wheel but we don't take the easy lines or feather the gas. My rear is the reason I swapped axles.

Not right off on the powder-coating.
Havent seen either of you (marc/justin) wheel.. Ive heard stories.. lol
The paint was for fenders that I was planning on replacing...have you seen mine? They are cut further than yours.. looks off with my small tires..
3 link and 33s (or 35s) is happening very very soon though.
