That is un-sprung weight. I will tell you what was told to me one time. You can build up a D44, but the the time you put money and time into it, you will probably have as much or more into it than you would have in a D60, and you will still not have an axle as strong or reliable. I started my last XJ with a D44/D60 it was a good combo, but now I am 60/60 and can tell you, I had way more in my D44 than the asking price of those tons you have found.

Travis and will, I'm probably going to pick up the trussed superduty 60 that's on Chattanooga area 4x4 sell and trade today. I'm thinking 700 is a pretty fair price since it's trussed and has a beef diff cover and ram mount. What do y'all think?

I think that's high for a D60.
I have about $1200 in my D44. (including steering) I couldn't come close to building a 60 for that.
Then again, I don't want a D60 because I don't plan on going over 35's in the forseeable future.
