the previous owner had the front drive shaft off the vehicle - he said everyone does it during the spring and summer. I go to put it on and its bent - no biggie, I'll get a new one. I'm just wondering if people really DO keep it off during non winter months..

thanks in advance, I'm sure I'll be crossing paths with some of you one day. Look forward to it!! Peace

I'm a little late to this post, but seriously leave the driveshaft in place once you replace it. USUALLY folks with ZJs and the NP249 AWD transfer case take them out when the viscous coupler fails. Where your transfer case lever is, what does it read? If it reads 4wheel, neutral and 4lo, then you have the 249...

The first hill is is the exit (and entrance) to Cliffhanger, and the rest is from the Moab Rim.

haha well if you can make WW in the rain then you can do it easily in the dry
It looks sick, as soon as i get the bumpstops in and setup i will post some pictures of it, since i lowered it and adjusted all my heims and redid my steering it feels like a lexus to drive!.... okay not that nice but it is sooooo much nicer! and its not NEAR as tippy as it was before
i dont have extra shafts but the ones in it are chromoly, and damn near as thick as the 8.8's-plus its got hubs, so if i snap a shaft i can simply unlock my hub and still keep going

i used to pull my front driveshaft out all the time, i only put it in when i was gonna go wheelin and in the winter. better gas mileage and less wear and tear on the frontend.
