You're right. I have a flowmaster delta 40 and I remember the next higher number was rated at being quieter, lower than 40 was louder. I would think flowmasters site would clarify this.

The delta series muffler are quieter. The super 44 is going to be louder then the 40 not by much. I have the super 44 on my truck and I wish I would of went with two 44 instead on the dual in dual out. If I wanted really loud I would of done glasspacks instead but I like the mellow tone. I had the 50 series and wasn't that loud. Still nice rumble but what I wanted.

I want something that will have a good tone but not too loud. A little loud is ok but not obnoxious. I want to be able to have a conversation inside with the windows up or down .

I have a flopro muffler and its not too load better then stock but not real loud either. But you hear it pretty good since you feel everything vibrate from the motor and trans mounts.

. I wish I could listen to a 44, 40 and yours in person and see the difference. YouTube videos don't do any justice to things like these. I'm so undecided :/

Anyone running thicker spark plug wires? I'm going buy champion copper plugs and was thinking of buying thicker wires but for the money do they really make a difference? Sorry for all these questions! The Jeep world is new to me.

I'm running a Ebay APN-style header, stock DP, 2.5in HiFlow Cat, 2.5in Magnaflow muffler. My xj sounds beastly.

You can also do a set of build your own wires they are a noticable difference in price but you can cut they to whatever size for a custom fit. And with plugs go ngk over champ.
