So I have another question for the guys that live in Albuquerque. I may be moving to ABQ by the first week of March and wanted to know what kind of emission test do they do there especially for our XJ's. I currently live in Rio Rancho so I don't know any of the process involved. On another note my XJ has a couple of exhaust leaks on the factory exhaust system and the O2 sensor seems to be the factory piece from 1999, would exhaust leaks cause an automatic fail? Would this and a custom made downpipe work on passing the emissions test along with a new o2 sensor?http://performance-curve.com/84-01ch...ailpipe-1.aspx
Thanks.
Thanks.

I last time I had the TJ done they OBDed it and stuck something in the exhaust pipe not the gas tank. Maybe because it was a different year model . It will not pass with a check engine light also.
Its based of your obdII plug to check if not check engine lights etc and a exhaust probe to check co and hc levels. I wouldn't see a crack in the downpipe causing much of a change and you'll allowed some much room in co and hc it might be a little high but as long the cracks isn't huge I wouldn't worry about it. Oh and check the gas cap.

I don't have a check engine light on. And the exhaust leaks are by the cat. The only thing that came up on the scanner last time was the TPS which I already replaced. Hopefully with my tax return I can have a new exhaust system put in along with a new o2 sensor.

So today I changed out the air filter, topped off some fluids, and seafoamed the jeep. I also got everything to do a oil change next weekend, mobile 1 full synthetic

I used to be a firm believer in Moble 1 but after seeing Rotella oil analysis from this motor and also the mzr2.3L that was in my MS3 I would never spend that much on oil again.
