Denver bs thread
got my rc crawler. mods so far, lowered it 1" and put roughly 1" bigger tires on. Until I get an XJ body I'm just going to beat on this ugly landrover body (hence the really ugly fender cutting lol)
I didn't even take any pics of it stock so had to go to ebay for a stock pic lol

Saw an XJ in the JY the other day with some skyjacker LCA's and springs, might be a decent donor for you, they didnt look abused. Colorado auto parts off of santa fe, looks like they got in a bunch of Jeeps recently.

Digging the crawler MrFajita.
I used to have an ax-10 and a custom built scaler on TLT axles. Wish I still had one now that I've moved back to Colorado... awesome crawling right outside my door.
For anybody interested I'm gonna be dropping the price on my XJ in my craigslist ad to 1800.00 tonight right before bed. (it's the one on pg. 813) I've lost my parking spot and it's starting to cause an issue.
Thought I would let you guys know before CL crowd just in case.

A deep cycle battery is probably not a bad idea. According to quadratec the XRC8 draws 410 amps. Your alternator should put out 90 amps. No alternator can keep up with a winch, but you could do several winch pulls on a good battery before it gets too low, even with the motor off.
If you winch with your engine running your current set up should be fine. I would only start to worry about the battery if you do a lot of winching with the engine off. Regular batteries don't recharge well if you drain them too low more than a time or two.

I would recommend wiring the winch directly to the battery. It's probably a good idea to get nice battery clamps with accessory studs though.
