If your gonna put that much time in ur steering ditch the y link setup. Go find a passenger side knockle from a wj d30 and run the drag link to the top of the knuckle and the tie rod straight across. This will give you a great drag link angle, raise it up 6 inches and improve you steering greatly.

Yes Very much so. The stock Y link sucks and is one of the biggest failures Jeep every did. It is one of the biggest contributor to bump steer and death wobble. Not saying the high steer wil fix it but it helps a lot. If you do it dont use ball joints though.... They wear out to quick and just suck.... Use actual heims like mentioned above. Having your Tie rod go all the way across will help in keeping your alignment straight.

I think the frame end of the track bar might be a bigger failure, or at least equally stupid design.

i wouldnt say that would be the biggest contributor to death wobble.
the y in the steering is fine up to about 4.5" of lift after that bump steer and angles become and issue.

Looked up the wj knuckle swap, looks like you need to swap over to WJ front brakes to do it.

True.... ok maybe 50% tha cause.

honestly whe I do not understand is the after market companies that use the factory bracket for the upgraded track bar.... The best ones are the ones the replace it an us a double shear. Eh either way y ink sucks and I dont understand why people wil spend money on a BEEFY Y link when they can convert to a better setup very easy. As far as teh design for you steering you satated... the TR from knuckle to knuckle with the drag link attached in a double shear would be the best option next to a true high steer. I think Hudfab steering is done like this. Jeremy has it and its about the best y link etup you could run. Don't waste your time on a over the knuckle steering setup.. you really dont gain anything... go true high steer.

I believe you are correct. the bolts will not line up correctly to an XJ. You can pull the calipers at a JY for next to nothing or even buy new ones for like maybe $20.. Honestly I would go new. but thats a diff story.... LOL I dont even own an XJ anymore LOL what do I know.
