For sure. Every store's different. In my restaurant career I've worked for Johnny Rockets, Red Robin, TGIF, Chili's, and Cheesecake Factory. My favorite company to work for has to be Chili's. TGIF has been my 2nd fav so I'm a little biased. Haha
I have been fortunate to never work for a chain restaurant, from everyone I have talked to and all of the restaurant work I have done, it seems like the money is better and the bs level is lower when you stick to the independants. Of course I have more than a little bit of an anti-corporate attitude. I want to know the people I am making money for.

It is the subtle things man. If you are good you can give people crap, push the drinks with a light hearted attitude and make the customer love you for it. Give the frat boys and the old people crap about not drinking more, keep the girls giggling, and quietly interject to the newly-weds and romantics to keep everyone drinking and having a good time. Oh and always push the chocolate to the middle aged ladies.

For me, depends on the corporation. Brinker who owns Chili's and Maggianos is really good to their employees. Cheesecake exact opposite.
Disagree the money though, corps you can make great money just b/c they're a chain. Heck, when serving at Cheesecake I'd leave with 100-300$ a night, but it was hell. But I do have to agree, if able to switch to a Independent and make the same money, I'd switch in a second.

lol, sorry, I'm a lifer in this industry and love it.

I hate RENIX xj's!! Why does my suspension have to come out you say?...oh thats right, it has to come out so I can pull the tranny. I just love the way RC designed their one piece crossmember!!

My clutch slave went out on me this week. Was sitting at a red light with the clutch pushed in and my jeep started to go by its self. Got out to take a look, only to see clutch fliud puking out of my bellhousing. My tranny already makes much noise in reverse and grinds in second, so Im not aboutto swap in a new clutch and slave without replacing the tranny. I dont feel like doing this twice. This xj has been nothing but trouble!! Im gonna put a bullet in it!!!!

Rant off.

Getting another dog today! Adopting from a Husky rescue. She is a 7 mo red and white with blue eyes. I need a girl to keep these boys in line!! Jetta isnt big enough for 3 dogs, so Im off to trade it for an auto XJ with 130k. Yay mini jeep!

EDIT:Fixed the first line.

Yeah. Also one of the main reasons I got into xjs was for my husky. Wanted him to be able to have his own space instead of being cramped inside a wrangler.

Plus I know my dog would prob fall out of a topless wrangler knowing him ha ha.

Once I get the lifted going again I might just do a little 2" bb on the mini. I already have some spacers for the front. Would just get a shackle and relo box for the rear Then call it done.

My husky gets upset since don't let him sit in the front seat. So he sits right behind me. Also if someone tries to sit in his spot he will either lay or stand on them. It's entertaining to say the least.

Did you ever get to try those leaf sliders out?

I am no lifer, I love it for now, but am in school so I don't have to work so damn hard for the rest of my life. I got into the industry because i wanted to own my own place. After running a couple other peoples place though I realized that i probably made more serving than most of them did as owners. At least for the first 7-10 years. As far as money goes, I think a daily average of at least 125 is the least I have worked for, except for one place I worked and I only worked there for a few weeks and some of the places in the mountains, but up there you make 70-80 one part of the year and 250+ during the busy times.
