Doing a complete tune up service and revamp of the cooling system this weekend. Also have a spare d30 that I have to swap in since the PO went jumping and bent the front axle to hell.
I've read through at least 300 pages of this thread and Im really excited. Only wheeling ive ever done was back in 98 with a stock 92 XJ up lefthand canyon. Wanted one ever since. Can't wait till I can afford for Hudfab to do some tinkering. I have quite a bit of fab experience from previous jobs, but just moved from out of state and dont have access to a welder. Anybody have an extra mig setup they wanna sell cheap?

I want to not have my 6x9s in my hatch. The rattle and don't hold in there good....odk how to fix that and keep it nice looking. So I though why not put them in my sub box. I have a single 12 with a box that expands acrriss the hole back seat. So my first idea was to put them In there but then found out it might cause distortion in speakers. So second though was if I put em in there but make a divider piece would it be fine? I'd be running both off amp.
I'd put them in separate boxes. You can't put them in the sub box using the same airspace as the sub. It will sound like poop. Also, when you block off airspace for the sub, it will be quieter but "tighter". Too little airspace and it will sound like poop. The vibrations from the sub box may also affect the speakers' performance.
You can also make MDF rings for the speakers to mount to instead of sheet metal. They will be more secure and won't rattle and will sound better.
I'm assuming you have a ported box or a bandpass if it is that big. Converting to a sealed style box will allow you to shrink it's size, but the bass will not be as "boomy".
