Denver bs thread
I have a receiver shackle you can use if needed, so don't worry about that. You can always just throw a tow strap on a hitch pin as well. You're covered with the rear receiver!
As for the front, there is this option available quickly.

The OEM tow hooks have always been one of the best out there. They are used, but still better than pretty much anything you can buy. The only other one I would go with is the iron rock off road with the crossmember spreading the load between both frame rails.

I've heard of slaughterhouse gulch. I'm up for anything. I just want to get out with the new Jeep.

I wrote a couple things in the post. What I think I know.
Which might be important, if I am correct, depending on the year you want them for.
Thanks for that. I saw your post about 96 and earlier being chrome hooks. I have pulled black OEM tow hooks/brackets off of an 88 Cherokee....which also happened to have a rear Dana 44 (That was a score find). However, hooks could have always been replaced for color preference. You could be right about them not fitting, but as you said...could also be incorrect. For the price....better ask where they came from and be sure they will fit.

You have to look close but see how big the base is?
When I added these to my '00 I did a lot of research.
Now if you look at the Craigslist link see the bracket?
See the triangle piece that is part of that bracket?
Well imagine that triangle piece separate.
That is what holds on the bumper when there are no tow hooks.
Now this bumper bracket supposedly does not fit my '00 but will fit '84 to '96.

Who's up for a Denver, CO based trip for an easy to moderate trail mid to late November? I can take a day off work to do a weekday, or we can plan weekend camping with trails both days. I'm thinking something like Pickle Gulch (Black Hawk, CO) or Middle St. Vrain to Coney Creek (Ward, CO). This is all dependent on the ongoing forest fires, of course.
I will be locked F/R on 31" BFG ATs, full recovery (potential winch, but not sure if I'll get that wired up by then), and skidded all around. This will be my first trip with the new XJ (extensive experience 10+ years ago, but my first trip since then), so it'll be a bit of a shakedown for me.
All I ask is that whoever I go with is respectful to the trail systems and surrounding environment. -Nick

Well I'm not sure yet if I got it fixed, I'll need to drive it some, but seems to be fixed. I took the two ground wires that I have never messed with off and clean them up and reinstalled them. One was not very tight, these two grounds are usually the ones that affect the P.C.M. in your Xj. One is right next to the P.C.M. and the other is right next to the alternator on the engine block. Clean every ground there is but especially those two. Those two are critical to getting clean info to the P.C.M. Some of the videos said that their engines were running rough and dieing out. Not after they cleaned up all their grounds.
