I don't trust the online write ups. Rather hear it straight from people who ride them on a regular basis.
Like that trail, Slaughterhouse, rated difficult, and y'all mother ****ers talkin about stock jeeps out there.
Here at Windrock, there is trails marked moderate or difficult and I won't even need 4wd on a dry day.
Also.... trail conditions change over time from people and erosion.
So.... does Google, and traildamage.com compensate for these factor on a regular basis?

I think the rating system on Trail Damage is one of the best that I've seen. The ratings in the FunTreks books are not nearly as informative. In the books, a trail can get an overall red difficult rating for just a small section of the trail. Also, all trails that require a lifted 4x4 get lumped together in the red group, even though there are clear differences within that level. It's like a ski resort not using double black diamond and just using black diamonds for everything from a steep hill with moguls to jumping off the face of a cliff into bowl. But, if you read the trail description in the book it has more info to figure out how difficult the trail is.

On the higher rated trails there are signs at the trail head saying the min requirements. A rig on 33s with a locker Id say can do about 90% of trails here comfortably. The other 10% would be rough going or no chance at all.

No, you are right. Most of the trails that I have been on this year in the boulder area are eroded more then I expected them to be. Left Hand Canyon is gone too. It wouldn't surprise me to never see that trail open again.
Another good site for checking whether trails are open is this:
http://www.bushducks.com/tripreps/passopen.htm
It gets updated pretty often.

Pickle gulch gets worse than a level 3 once you get near the clearing before the cabin.
I saw this on bushducks.com. Doesn't sound good for this wheeling season.
6/10/14 - Montezuma Road is closed until further notice after a flood of the Snake River washed out a 45 foot section of Montezuma Road just west of Peru Creek Trailhead, prohibiting access to trailheads and roads on national forest land east of the flood site. There will be a temporary emergency bridge for residents, but this is PROHIBITED for use by recreationalists. Access for the general public is likely to remain closed over summer.
