Over the weekend I changed wheel bearings because I started getting DW pretty bad. As I was replacing axle shafts I damaged the already leaking seal worse so I was forced to rebuild front axle sooner than expected. Luckily I had all the stuff. The next day I replaced inner axle seals, threw in the alloy USA outer tube seals, then I figured while it was all apart I might as well throw the LOKKA locker in. It all went together pretty smooth then I went to drive it and it had death wobble so bad I couldn't drive. So the next day, I realized that the shaft from the steering wheel to the steering box has a section that's rubber sleeved. Well it was so busted up that it had a half revolution of slip in it. So I took it off and welded it solid. Haha then I lengthened the adjustable upper control arms a little to tilt the axle forward a bit then took off my wheel spacers. I also threw on a new stabilizer just cuz I ha it. I must say the steering feels so much more solid and predictable than before. But God was my weekend a headache
Thanks for the info. I am looking to do trails and some crawling. I am not looking to baja or blaze through trails. I should be OK with them. I think I am opening up my search to include up to 99.

What was the cause of your death wobble? Was it the steering shaft? Or the adjustment of your control arm.
I need to adjust my crap one of these days and I should probably check that shaft myself.

All the play in the steering wheel was definitely because o the shaft and I'm sure that didn't help the shaking steering wheel all the time. And I am leaning towards a combination of both. How ever I just got back from putting some more miles on it and down a really rough road it did shake a couple times but it still feels much tighter than before. I guess I will just have to do 1 tons to get rid of it

When you say that it still shakes a bit. Do you mean it still feels like the start of DW (but not really) but it never goes?
One tons with some nice hydro assist will definitely stop the DW.

Yeah if I hit a bump right the wheel will shake like the start of death wobble and sometimes it will death wobble till I slow down. Haha and that's what I'm thinking!

Yeah I get that also but very rarely. Mine the tire feels like it shakes a tad but I never feel it in the steering wheel. Which is why I need to adjust my stuff. My caster is off by a couple degrees and my track bar is off center a tad since the springs settled a bit more and of course my toe is probably off also with the off roading.
Put some adjustable lower arms to give me some caster, jeep drives a lot better on road. Didn't realise the stock lower pivots are adjustable allowing caster adjustment. Tge more you know people. Arms are beef so not a total waste.
Now to fix the slop in my steering box(no adjustment left without binding), after all the reading on the durango box I'm not convinced. Anyone done the swap? My other option is the redheaded box, I'm not playing the parts store reman game.
Also got smogged and tabs in person for 2016, DON'T do online renewal. I got facked out of tabs for 2015, my renewal went thru but the reg card never got to me. Tried 3 different times, stupid website errors.
