I've been a forum member for about a year. Slowly getting my rig ready to go wheeling. I still have a few things to do. Rebuilding the front ds cv joint this week and replacing the ds u-joint. Lived here in vegas for a little over 20 years. Usaf retired, currently working for the county. Off thurs-friday for now (have to bid for shifts in may-june). Need to get out and see some of this area off the pavement but nothing crazy. Not a crawler.
Hey welcome! I'm off Thurs/Fri as well. I work in real estate and pretty much have to work weekends! I want to get out asap, but as you can see my rig is in pieces...
Ordered motor and trans today!!!! Might have it by Friday! Took some of the Jeep funds and FINALLY completed my AR. I got the complete lower just after Sandy Hook happened. It's been a running joke with my wife saying I have my half gun. Mounted Also ordered a Vortex Crossfire 2 1-4x scope. I like the fact that it's a red dot and small zoom all in one.
Nice!! I've been doing the exact opposite, been taking some of the gun funds to spend on the jeep. We should really do a Cherokeeforum shoot!!!

Yea! I need to get my scope zero'd in once i receive it... I know Clark County Shooting park is open late on a couple of days. I'll have to head up there.
Yea I took it apart tonight. I realized the huge yolk nut is what freezes the output shaft. It's one of those lock nuts so I'm not able to get full torque on the bench. I spent 2 hours going over AA's instructions and re checking my bench to make sure nothing was forgotten. Yea I feel like a dummy.

I had to buy a bigger impact to do pinion nuts. PITA
With the rain going and nothing to do today GF said lets go play in the mud. Took the tow rig (93 F250 4x4) out and found a decent trail out toward Lovell canyon. Got up to it right as second rain hit. Crawled up to the top of a mountain and could see out into a valley on back side. Hail it good as we hit the top. Did 3/4 of it in 2wd then it got to slick and couldn't climb anymore. There's a few trails out there from what I could see.
