I want to see how the install goes. I need to upgrade mine. The stock steering with ZJ swap is not cutting it at this lift with long arms. It limits my flex and the drag link sucks at this height.

I feel like im doing something thats never been done before with all this nay saying haha. Ill take it as you guys have never driven rigs with hydro assist or full hydro steering before. first off doing assist will only cost me like $40 so why not do it Its not like im dumping a **** ton of money into it. that is the price of a new dampener, which hyd assist is the best dampener ever. why isnt the dana 30 a worthy axle? have your broken multiple shafts and bent housings yet. Do I have a set of D44s yes are they going to go under a cherokee no. Hydro assist will not only give me more turning power but it removes a **** ton of stress on the "frame" and steering box. Nothing pisses me off more when wheeling than when im bound up and have to fight my steering wheel to turn though not as bad as 40's, 33s aird down and a locked front end is no fun to turn sometimes. as far as mounting the ram to the diff cover I would say over half assist set ups are mounted to diff covers, its not that hard to pull one extra bolt to pull the cover. why not make a bracket that welds to the axle, simple the track bar is mounted in front of the axle where I would have to put the ram to get it parallel with the tie rod. I may go with using the stabilizer mount but that's iffy because of angles

but either way to each their own.

Well, last Wednesday my van was stolen and all my tools with it, found the van same day, no tools. $1300 worth of tools gone. Oh, and the ****ers took my garage door opener and tried to get into my house the next day. Sunday I wheeled my XJ for the first time since the lift and so on, but I bent my tie rod so bad my driver side tire is toed in to the point I can't drive it unless I want to ruin a tire. Monday I tore my rotator cuff in my left shoulder at work and have been waiting to get that fixed now. So, this is how it all happened.

Install is easy if you have tapered inserts. A lil more work if you have to ream them. Took me like 2 hours to install and 1 of them was drilling the Pitman arm

I ordered it with the tapered inserts, I was thinking about taking the arm to a shop with a drill press. I have a 1/2" low speed drill, but don't know if I wanna mess with it after reading some stories. Lol

I did mine with $15 harbor freight step bits and my hand drill. The knuckles were easy but the Pitman arm killed 2 bits.

On a side note after a year I finally realized my jeep has a cup holder
