the only reason i belive it was even getting that hot was because the head was cracked between the 3rd-4th cylender common on the 0331 head castings used for the 2000-2001 xj and because of that i could never keep the system full with no air in it but on the trails like ocho said you are just relying on your fan and i want to keep it cool dont really want my fans working over time and wearing out faster

Oh ok so this was when the head was cracked that it was over heating. Yeah that'll do it for sure. When you getting the jeep back?

I get it back tomorow 4 wheel parts is nice enuf to tow it to my work for me since I would no be able to pick it up till Friday

Plus since it is a good clean motor now and I know what is going to be done to it I want to take a lil better care of it starting with not lettimg my litle brother drive it he put 10k miles on it while I was gone and never changed the oil

I'd be pretty pissed and I would've made him pay for at least half of what you put into it. That's just me though.

this thing is as clean as it gets unless i take a green scrubbie to eveything. I actually pressure washed the underside yesterday to prep for the lights going in. But it doesnt take much for the sand to build back up and mix with the grease and oil.
