just a question dont mean to sound stupid where i am from it does not really get hot enuf for long periods of time to need the hood vents but i know the xj has a tendency to run around 200-210 would putting some hood vents in be advisable for the dry heat out here

200 to 210 is normal operating temp for the 4.0 and most chry products. Vents alone aren't going to cool an engine in this heat they don't do anything noticeable under normal conditions you won't see your engine running cooler. What they will do is help with what our engine compartment is lacking. Air flow. Your injectors, intake, ecm, relay box and everything you else under your hood just sits there and cooks all day long. You ever notice that after a 5 min drjve your hood is too hot to hold your hand on. Now a side effect of the vents letting all that hot air out is obviously more airflow though the radiator. That's where the engine cooling side of it comes in. If you have a good fan clutch and efan it'll help when things get excessively hot

hell yea they are bright. Imagine 600 of the flashes on your phone going off at once.

these are the ones i bought, I paid $22. Click here You can buy them from anyone you just have to read what the specs are. They come in 300 and 600 leds. and you can get 5050 SMDs or 3528 SMDs like I got. 5050 leds are technically 3 3528s in one housing but are designed to do RGB, so in a single color application like this the 3528 will actually come out to be brighter. Also I have seen non water proof ones as well as ones without the double side tape on the back. just read the ad and get what you want or buy the same as me lol.

the trial they will help, since you are going slow your not getting the ram air and relying on the fan all the time, letting as much heat out as possible is best. if you cant tell by looking at my jeep I dont really care what it looks like so mine took 10 min and $10 in parts. if you wanna spend more money and take more time you can make them come out pretty nice

If your overgeating on the trail or anywhere its best just to fix your cooling system as its obviously not working properly.

Mine has yet to overheat anywhere since I replaced the whole cooling system.

Ran a switch off of my fuse box. started at the front of the drivers rocker. Pos from the switch into the strip, grounded the strip to chassis. at the other end of the strip I ran a wire from the pos side to the pos side of the second strip, again grounding it to chassis. Repeat the same thing going from the second stip to third and from the third to fourth. I mounted them up with these things as well as the glue on the back
