Who know's tho. I really hate the fact that to fit 33's clean you need a 6.5 lift, and if you want 35's your cutting period. I really DON'T want to go a 6.5 Long Arm just to fit 33's cleanly. I don't really want to chop n hack the rear fenderwellls becuase that would be a chore to return to normal.
After modifying many different cars/trucks over the years I do know that if everyone else has had to, I will need to so I guess no way around it really..
Anyone here in Las Vegas running a Long Arm Kit??
quote fail but im to lazy to find the original post
I do run a long arm kit. some kits are designed so you don't have to cut the stock mounts off... but if your going to go as far as running long arms I doubt youll go back to stock. my trimming is surprisingly clean.. my fenders are junk from getting bashed in so it makes it look bad ( bump stop properly and you wont have this problem). just cut/trim and don't look back!
for 33s id go with a 3" lift.. 6.5" is way to high.. that's what im sittin at now with 35s and I feel wicked tippy where my smaller friends don't feel anything at all. im actually coming down to 4.5" either this weekend or next. still waiting on a few parts.

Kinda been messin around, got my new exhaust manifold on, changed my driver side motor mount. Changing passenger side mañana. Ordered my flares. Decided with Napier. And set up my appointment to get gears and lockers and axles. Gotta wait till the 2nd.
but I couple more weeks and I'm going to be ready!!
but I couple more weeks and I'm going to be ready!!
Pros: to date there hasn't been any place I haven't been able to go, climb, or conquer. I'm sure that time is coming but not today... its done everything I've asked it to.
of course my lockers really help out but as a system together in concert it's just awesome. the ride quality is very good just as good as stock but that's all I have to go in comparison to.
what really brought the ride together where the shackle relocation brackets, they really opened up the articulation of the rear leaf springs and even the front springs along with making the ride really smooth. it really is night and day I can't I can't say enough about those.
as far as the cons go I really don't see too many besides the more involved install process and of course cutting off the lower control arm mounts, but that doesn't bother me in the slightest. I mean if I were to resell it I would think that would be a selling point to have long arms.
it is not my daily driver its just my fun weekend toy and I'm rolling on 33's with 4:56 gears.
