Maybe we have different definitions of mall crawler:
-flashy wheels
-far too large of tires for the lift
-not suitable for offroad (ie street queen...)
Vs having room for your axle to properly articulate with:
-properly sized tires
-correct amount of lift for those tires.
-bumpstops etc...
There is no function to be had from tires that are too large

A mall crawler is any truck or suv that's hella lifted and that's got like 33's. But the difference is not a spec of dirt can be found on it showing that it's not actually used for off road. The name comes from the word rock crawler which is a truck actually used for offroad rock crawling.
kyle"look at all those SRH **** waxing their trucks"
Me,"yeah they're getting ready to cruise over to the mall to show off their mall crawlers."
Kyle,"well they gotta have something to compensate their little dics
Chrome rims and too much lift along with no front drive shaft.. Make this a certifiable Mall Crawler..
Haha In my opinion excessive lift with small tires. ( Yes 33" tires are small ) that doesn't get wheeled is a mall crawler.
You can't tell me that the one guy on here with 37" tires and 3" of lift is a mall crawler haha.

for example... I would rather run 31s on a 3.5" lift than trying to stuff 33s in there and trim

I was once at 3" and 31s on my last XJ. Now I'm at ~4.5" and 31s with trimmed fenders... lots of room for 32s or 33s. I love mall crawling, climbing speedbumps and parking on curbs haha.
There was a ok looking one on cl for 1500

I thought I recognized your username and I do. I recognize it from Nevada Shooters.
Looks like a good deal on a '98 if anyone is looking.
