uhhhhh. well I personally recommend the older mud terrains if you can find some. I think I might get a new set once mine are worn out. just need to find some 17" wheels.

Some people might disagree.
I havent tried the wrangler MTR yet but it looks like it would be really sticky.

An october drive would be awesome! We should all plan something soon. I know logandale has lots of different kinds of driving and climbing. That way everyone can come along and the climbers can do some technical stuff too

Well, I thought that I would pipe in from up here in Ely, Nevada. I just bought a '96 XJ a week ago and could not be happier with it. It only has 102,XXX miles. The setup is 4.0l with a header; 2" of lift; Dana 35 rear with LSD; Dana 30 open front (soon to have a Spartan locker) -- gearing is 3.54:1 and it has an AX15 5spd. I only have road tires (235/75R15 Michelins) on it right now, as it is meant to commute. When the weather gets bad, which we will start to see snow up here towards the end of this month, then I am going to put 31X10.5 on it. Even with road tires it goes places my Z71 wishes it could!
The one thing that I like about it is the gas mileage. I picked it up in St. George, Utah and it averaged 25mpg on the highway, and from Cedar City, Utah to Panaca, Nevada (a distance of 92 miles) I only used 3.05 gallons of gas, or 30.16mpg! I could not believe it! My wife was driving the XJ and I was driving my Z71, which she babys everything. My Z71 got it's normal 19mpg, while the XJ blew my mind. I drove my XJ 47 miles (50% town) today and filled it up again and it only took a hair over 2 gallons! Of all of the attributes that I have heard about the XJ, good gas mileage is not one of them!
Oh, and by the way, these pictures were take at about 9000' above sea level overlooking Steptoe Valley and Ely.
