Is $2500 a lowball offer? It's not your fault he lives in Tuscon. He can come get the MJ and pay a little closer to your price.
Yep I did the math at 12 mpg to be safe Originally Posted by Photojared

Figured it'd be a hefty bill.Yeah its a bit of a drive, went a few years ago for the superbowl in phoenix and visited friends on the edge of nothing in Tuscon.
400$ offer would be lowball, but of course I always look for the best offer.
*word of advice* If someone shows up to buy your jeep with a blue tooth in his ear, hes gonna wanna pay blue book

I pretty much came to an ultimatum.
Which ever he chooses..
Its still up for sale. I dont even have the cash go down there at the moment.

Looks GREAT!
4.0l? Or the v8?
Havent done axle seals myself, Personally I would take it to a place specializing in drivetrain. Adams or dans driveline are both reputable. with the exception jon's bolts not being threadlocked at dans recently, Always had top notch and speedy service there.

Quick question guys I have a 86' xj with a 2.8L and I was thinking about swapping a 4.0L. Is that possible? What needs to be changed or is it just finding a long block? Trans wise is the same?

Well the 2.8 was carbureted. And the 4.0s were not. So youll need to get a wiring harness and everything that goes with it to make a fuel injected engine work. Originally Posted by TAGS

You need to move the radiator support forward to fit the 4.0 and I think a new hood and the hood latches and supports from a newer model.
the trans needs to be swapped to fit a 4.0 and possibly an advancedadaptors kit to make things mate correctly.
There are other problems.
the spot where the shifter rests may not line up, firewall may need to be pounded in to fit a bigger engine and different trans transfer case in.
Then there is making mounting brackets for ****ING EVERYTHING.
Research the 2.8l V6 to 4.2l Inline 6 swap
Get a different jeep in my opinion.

If your building for trail rig I would say do it but make it a stroker but for a DD I wouldnt do it to much work and time your better off just saving around 2000 and buying a desent one. IMOOriginally Posted by TAGS

Not too much buddy. Working a lot this week.
Cant believe you got rid of the evo already a$$!
Ripped out carpet today. Replacing that. Looking for center console. Mine is crap.
Thinking about keeping it. It is pretty damn cool.
But then I dream about an soa kit, and 6"coils. and the everything else that comes along with that. And I just cant afford it right now.
Plus Ive been having dreams about another 2 door xj. Maybe a 97+
Guy from AZ called me about the MJ. Wants it delivered to tuscon for 3200. Or picked up locally for 2500.
Road trip anyone? Ill pay gas+ expenses both ways for ya. Lol

lets see it!
