You should take it and have it load tested. If you drive it to autozone or the like, they should test the alternator and battery for free. Generally if the battery drops to 10v or lower it needs to be replaced.

Have you checked that with a thermal meter? Sometimes the gauges or sending units can be off or messed up causing faulty readings.

Mine runs between 14 and 15 when running. I'd maybe go with alternator. Because sitting it's at good amperage but running the battery shouldn't drop to less.

I'll drive down to AutoZone tomorrow and have them look at it. Just got home from running around all day I wanna chill hah.But they can test it all while hooked up right? I don't have to take it out and drive down with it? Also if I have to replace the alternator any suggestions for brands or amp? Keep in mind I have a 1990. And I don't really want to mod a bracket or anything by myself.

Also been thinking about ripping the AC out since I haven't used it in the 4 years I've owned it now since it doesn't work anyway. Have you guys done this? Ever done it?

I'd do a high amp one like we all suggested you before. But as far as a/c just take it out and get the idler pulley setup that goes in its place. Or just put a York compressor in its place

Rock rings should be here this week. Also just ordered some Jeepers Creepers battery cables. It's been like Christmas for the xj. Also got the 80$ in bushing assemblies for the rear tire carrier and all the tabs as well. Should get that fabbed in the next couple weeks. All of the unibody is now plated and made new lower front shock mounts. Installed new front brake lines. After cables and rear bumper comes alternator and maybe battery relocate.

I think the highest amp at Autozone/Orileys was 100amp that worked with the stock bracket. I'll dig a little more and check though.

It's minor grinding to the bracket to fit a way beefier one in its place. I think for 5 to 10 minutes of grinding it's worth having the 136 amper you can get from I think most dodge vehicles like the ram and grand Cherokee etc

Just bought a dual diaphragm brake booster. Gonna swap that bad boy in this weekend. I'll let you guys know how I like it! And my battery cables shipped today as well.
