Yeah its alot easier on a lifted Xj but the Pan will come out without removing the trans. One suggestion I have is to spend the extra coin and get the one piece rubber style gasket dont even try using a cheap cork multi piece one. Beleive me I have attempted it and its no fun getting it back together and finding out the thing leaks and having to do it all over.

Its not that bad, the pan come out easy if you take the steering link off(one castle nut).
There is no 1 piece rear main for the 4.0. At least not to my knowledge, i mean how would you put a 1 piece on? Half of it slides into one bearing cap, and the other half around the crank. Its not even one peice from the factory.
The job is a messy one but its fairly straight forward, dont drop the trans.

lol guys.... ya so I figured it out and am gonna try to do it and let you all know how it goes but have to wait till this weekend because uh..... the apartment dont like the leaky all over and its a dirty job hehe.... **** em
