started on my next big mod.. going doorless

for now I've decided to just do the front doors, since my kids ride in the back. problem is that I have power everything, so if I pull my door all the windows go dead. my fix? puIl the switches out of the doors! here's the driver's door now, with a piece of abs covering the hole where the switches used to be.

once I got the harness pulled free, I extended the window and lock motor wires with a four pin trailer setup, which gives me a quick and easy disconnect in the jam.

I left just enough slack so I could tuck the plug into the door, and the two boot halves line up good enough that it should help to keep excessive mud out of things.

next up will be finding a good spot to mount the switches inside.. i'm leaning towards the spot where my rear defrost switch is now, and I'll move that over next to the rear wiper switch. for now it's just zip tied up under the dash next to the center console.

and to keep it legit when the doors are off, I pulled the original mirror and found one at vatozone to mount on the a-pillar. not sure how much I like it tho, so I'm gonna have a look at some motorcycle mirrors at bent bike next week. and then I gotta get the passenger door done. should be a lot easier now that I know what to do.

could have sworn I got a pic with the door off, but I guess not.. I'll get one up tomorrow tho.

So I took each wheel off one by one to paint them yesterday. Put them back on last night and drove it to surprise lake today. Every time I hit a bump on the road with my drivers side front tire it would get death wobble real bad. Slow down and it would go away until I hit another bump again??

Got underneath it today. Track bar was pretty loose so I torqued that bolt down and went for a short drive. Steering felt better and no death wobble yet but will take it for a longer drive probably Monday
