Default Friday and Monday

I'm late for Friday, but not for today.
Friday I pulled the grill and both headlight baskets off and re-painted them. The factory paint on the old ('86) plastic grill was looking mighty faded. So the first coat was some 'tarnished silver' paint, once all the silver parts were dry I spent like 2 hours masking the silver and painted the balance of the grill/baskets a semi-gloss black. While those were drying I removed 2 broken screws (oops) that held the grill on and mixed up a small bit of epoxy to fill the holes. The rusted in screws did not remove well. I re-drilled holes into the set epoxy and put the freshly painted grill back on. Looks good but no pictures as is was getting late.
Today (Monday) I replaced the track bar. I had to use a hand grinder to cut through the frame end of the old track bar as the nut was too rusted and the ball end too loose to removed a civilized way. I found once I had the track bar removed the mounting bracket that attaches to the frame had about a 2 inch crack between the track bar hole and the frame bolt holes. So that bracket came off - got some crap in one eye - spent about an hour getting that eye to work again. (YES, I had safety glasses, but they had fogged up and I moved them to get a better look - ouch!) Wire brushed all the old grease/dirt/etc off, fired up the wire feed and repaired a crack. I spend more time at this point that it did to put everything back together. And during that process I noticed the left front sway bar bushing was missing. And that is for another day.

Default My list is bigger than your list.

Yeah, this was my oldest daughter's daily driver. But her husband isn't a mechanic and left a lot of things to be fixed. I bought it back from her and at this point I am about halfway through of my list of items needing attention.
Items completed:
1) replaced battery
2) replaced alternator
3) replaced instrument panel (this one might have been fixable had I removed it first)
4) replaced front seat belts (latch side)
5) cleaned fuse panel / replaced all fuses (this may have been my instrument panel troubles)
6) unfroze lift gate latch - rusted shut
7) repaired / painted lift gate interior trim panel
8) repaired speedometer
9) replaced sunvisors
10) replaced track bar (today)

Items still needing attention:
11) sway bar bushing
12) rear wiper motor
13) replace missing rear speaker
14) replace / re-key lift gate lock (can't insert key)
15) replace outside mirrors (inside controls shot)
16) replace heater motor (squeals when running)
17) interior light
18) headliner falling down
19) new muffler
20) transfer case linkage (won't go 4 low right now)
21) saving room for additional items....

Items wanted - not needed:
100) modest lift kit - 2 1/2" - 3" lift
101) new (craigslist specials) alloy wheels
102) 30x9.5 or 31x10.5 tires (undecided)
103) MSD ignition box
104) new paint / body work - I call this the Silver Slug at this point. I'm thinking GREEN.

took it cruising down some logging roads, found a little mud and I found an old bronco that was stripped and had been sitting for a while, so out came the tow strap and I drug it around for a good 2 hours. now its in the garage so I can put in the new ball joints and change the carrier
