Not today but a a couple days ago... I diagnosed a knocking sound coming from drag link and tie rod. Thinking about upgrading to a beefier setup. I heard that you can pull them off a grand cherokee and they are much stronger, any thoughts or suggestions to help me out?

Oh and also made this sweet video of my front suspension after I put a lift on to understand how things move when I go over bumps and what not.

Ya you swap the knuckles and steering from a wj. Gives you high steer and crossover. Only intricate detail is that the wj knuckles are 1/4" shorter than the xj. Gotta buy spacers and have them professionally welded in. Other than that its all a direct swap.

The wj swap is a great swap but the easier cheaper fix that i think he is referring to is the v8 zj tie rod swap. The drag links between xj and zj are the exact same, the tie rod is the upgrade, much beefier.

I'll have to steal these bits from the junkyard next time for a rainy day.

If I swap the tie rod are there any other mods that I need to do, or is it an exact fit?

That gave me a great idea... Film while wheeling... Build a small cage to go around camera to prevent crushing!

Does anyone have a spare radiator bottle cap for an 87-91 xj?

Is it not holding pressure or did you lose one? If it won't hold pressure flip the gasket in side and add a hose clamp to the outside. It sounds ghetto I know but it works.
