Default Project Rebuild, bigger and better.

So to give a little back story.

I had a blue jeep that was lifted with lots of goodies, but the body was trashed. I found a deal on a 91' 2 door sport with a bad motor. Swapped out the motor for a good one and tore down the blue jeep to nothing and scrapped it.

Now the fun begins. My new 2 door will have a few upgrades over oleblue. I have upgraded to front longarms, got some really bad *** sliders, and bought rear quarter panel armor made for a 2 door.

Today the build began, only had a couple hours to work on it but got the back all done!

Heres a couple pics of the motor from a 98 i put in it after it was all prettied up.

So, even though im not near as good as Buck at making build threads, I will try to keep this one up to date with some pics lol. The Jeep is going to look so sick when its done, and be a mean machine.

This is what all is going into it, all the parts I have on hand.

Longarms, crossmember and tcase skid.
Sye from my old jeep.
Locked and geared 8.25 29 spline
The lift is 6.5-7 inch
OBA with tank
Roof Rack
2 Door quarter panel armor
Snorkel
D30, locked, geared, chromo axles
CB
Front winch bumper and Winch
Custom rear bumper.
35x13.5x15 toyo mt
Wj master cylinder and booster
rear disc brakes

The plan is to have her up and ready to rock by June. Should be no problem making that deadline.

Its maiden voyage will be our end of june Naches trip. Stay Tuned

Little more progress today, Old axle out, and started cutting off the lower control arm mounts from the frame to make room for the long arms.

Hey Timmy, that new motor install came out super clean. Looks great!! You definitely passed me up while I was out floating off the east coast. Suspension is coming right along nicely. Keep it up, Buddy!!

Thanks Buck! When i had the new motor still out i degreased it and painted it black. Painted the valve cover and hermo housing the same color as all my lower components will be.

The diff covers, 1 ton steering, longarms, crossmember, shocks, clevices, track bar and steering stabilizer will all be sail blue.

Sliders, bumpers, armor, and rack will all be black, along with rhino lining the bottom part of the jeep. It will look good i think!

Removed the tcase from whitey so I can swap in the SYE from oleblue. What a pain in the *** it is to take out the tcase, ugh.

Anyways, it sucks I have to swap the sye between cases because one is a 21 spline and one is a 23 spline. Oh well, i guess I will get to check out the inside of the new tcase for damage/worn parts so thats a good thing.

Only getting an hour here or there to work on it stinks!

Yesterday i got the tcase from whitey torn apart and ready to receive the SYE from ole blues tcase.

Also got the tcase from oleblue seperated from the transmission and started tearing it apart to swap SYE over. Didnt get any pics but I will today.

After the SYE is done and tcase is back in, next project is cutting the rest of the lower control arm mounts off to make room for the longarms. Hoping to have that done this week.

What are you using to cut the LCA mounts off? I'm going to need to do that for my longarm install. I think my buddies have the right tools but I want to be sure it's done right..
